A top Hizbul Mujahideen commander was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district on Wednesday, police said.
Mueen, who works as an Information Technology manager at Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Pampore was offering late afternoon prayers with colleagues when three militants entered the campus on Saturday.
Muzaffar Wani, who is a teacher by profession, unfurled the national flag on the premises of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Tral.
"He was one of the oldest militant and wanted for several terror-related crimes," police told PTI.
He said the search operation turned into an encounter after the hiding terrorists fired at the security forces.
Security forces are carrying out searches in various areas to nab the six terrorists, the source said.

The terrorists were later identified as Pervaiz Ahmad Wani of Galoora Handwara and Naeem Ahmad Najar of Shelpora Brad, Sopore, he said.
Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Sajid Ahmad Gilkar was killed in an encounter on Wednesday.
Of these, 6,221 were injured due to pellets, 368 due to bullets, four due to pava shells and 2,449 suffered other injuries, the J-K CM said.
The district administration has also ordered closure of all colleges and higher secondary schools in Srinagar for Monday.
